OMG...Am I Pregnant? (Part II)
Yeah, this is the concluding part of the "PREGGIE" Story...If you missed the beginning of the story, kindly read HERE
...The journey into being pregnant began, and, I must confess, It wasn't any fun at the beginning. I literarily started changing...OMG...I NEVER envisaged this..I detested the smell of almost everything; food cooked by me, My husband's favorite perfume, I was nauseated by almost anything. I wanted to eat meals made by neighbours or even at the markets. I could sniff the empty air and trail a food odour to where it was being cooked until I found it.
I became a complete shadow of myself. My One time glowing skin had turned into an unimaginable burnt-offering ...lol. Everything I wore became uncomfortable and shapeless. My husband practically dreaded me, he never did anything right in my eyes. One day he looked into my eyes and thanked me for going through this for both of us. He told me how much he wished he could trade places with me so as to feel exactly what i was feeling and somehow, he touched my "Pregnancy Soft Spot" (Husbands, We always want to hear these things.Learn ooooo...lol) and that was where my turning point began. I decided I was going to make this fun for both of us.Even though I couldn't predict my body changes, I knew I couldn't continue like this.I had to enjoy this phase with my husband being my greatest fan. The first thing on my ENJOYING PREGNANCY list was to completely change my wardrobe. I pushed my already too tight outfits to the back and replaced them with beautiful chiffon gowns, gown blouses, peplon (Is that the spelling?) blouses, and wonderful flowing slim strapped gowns. I visited the Salon once in a month to change my looks and hairstyle and I suddenly began to love my tanned looking skin color. My face was so large with my big nose resting lazily on it, but I didn't care anymore (Afterall, Pregnancy isn't a disease na!).I had to remain pleasant and beautiful to him.
As the months drew closer, I had fully settled into being "the pregnant one". We took amazing pictures together to keep memories of the moment, we ate out often because I practically never ate anything I cooked and he wasn't going to watch me starve myself to death. I usually picked the food anyway. We went on long walks everyday to keep fit (Doctor's advice).I was usually dizzy at the initial stage but that stopped after a while. I simply took charge of the pregnancy (You should try that if you are expecting a baby).
I must say that the rest of the journey into delivery was a rather smooth ride because I decided to take charge of the pregnancy.I just wanted to be happy and in turn, make my unborn baby happy and healthy.
I know I have very little experience in this regard, and I'm also aware of the fact that pregnancy "wahala" varies. Please do share your own "pregnancy wahala" and how you were able to work on it.
LET'S HELP THAT PREGNANT HOMEMAKER!
